Sweepstakes casinos are hotter than ever in the US. High 5 Casino alone reports having over 33 million active players, while Stake.us and Chumba Casino also clock in with millions of registered users. One of the reasons why these casinos have become such a smash-hit with gamers is because of the slots, which are known for offering better RTPs and faster payouts than most other games. Step inside any sweepstakes casino and you’ll generally find that they have 1,000+ slots to pick from, so let’s unpack everything you need to know and how slot prize redemptions work.

How Sweepstakes Casino Slots Work

▪ Choose the slots you want to play

▪ Play using either Gold Coins (GCs) or Sweeps Coins (SCs)

▪ Collect enough SCs and start redeeming prizes

Sweepstakes casino slots work just like regular online slots. In fact, many of the slots you’ll find in standard online casinos are also available in sweepstakes casinos. The only difference with sweepstakes slots is that you’re playing with virtual coins instead of real money.

If you play sweepstakes slots using Gold Coins, it’s purely for fun, as these coins have no value. However, if you play slots using Sweeps Coins, it’s more competitive, as SCs can be redeemed for prizes once you collect enough of them. Essentially, bet GCs if you want entertainment and to climb leaderboards, or use SCs if you’re chasing prizes.

Hacksaw Gaming, BGaming, and plenty of other providers supply their games to sweepstakes casinos, so there are plenty of great slots to pick from. Mountain of Zeus, Wanted Dead or a Wild, and Stampede Fury are some of the most popular sweepstakes slots at the moment, and you’ll sometimes even find that sweepstakes casinos host their own exclusive in-house slots that you can’t play anywhere else.

Easy Access Sweepstakes Demo Slots

Before you play sweepstakes slots for real prizes, it’s a good strategy to play demo games first. By playing the free demo versions of slots, you can familiarize yourself with the mechanics, experiment with the bonus features, and ultimately discover which themes you like (remember, each sweepstakes slot has its own unique theme and symbols). Once you feel like you’ve gotten used to a particular slot, you can then start betting Sweeps Coins and go for prizes.

Prize Redemption

Redeeming prizes is the most exciting part of any sweepstakes casino. Once you’ve bagged enough Sweeps Coins, the logical next step for most players is to start exchanging those coins for prizes. Most sweepstakes casinos offer cash transfers and gift cards in their prize pools, while some even have cryptocurrencies and merchandise like hats and hoodies.

Every sweepstakes casino has what’s called a minimum redemption requirement. It’s a fixed number of SCs you need to have collected before you can redeem prizes. Chumba Casino, High 5 Casino, and WOW Vegas all have their amount set at 100 SCs for cash prizes, although some of the newer sweepstakes casinos offer slightly lower thresholds.

So, once you’ve collected enough SCs, go to the ‘Redemptions’ section in your casino, select the specific prize you want, and complete the exchange. For example, if you have 125 SCs, you might want to redeem five 25 SC gift vouchers.

Prize redemptions typically take up to 48 hours, but some sweepstakes casinos can take longer. Fun fact, though, you can speed up prize redemptions by climbing VIP tiers in your sweepstakes casino, as many operators offer perks like faster prize redemptions the higher you climb.

Which Sweepstakes Casinos You Should Use to Play

As of 2026, there are a huge 400+ sweepstakes casinos available to join online. It’s an exciting mix of old classic sites mixed with countless new operators, all of which offer their own unique game libraries and welcome bonuses. If you aren’t sure which to join, these are some of our top picks:

The good news is that these sweepstakes casinos are currently available in 33 states in the US, as well as large parts of the world. The only catch is that the majority of sweepstakes casino operators require you to be aged 21+ if you wish to sign up, although this can change depending on which country you’re trying to play from. And once your account is verified, you’ll receive your welcome coins and can immediately start using them across your favorite slots.

For all the slot fanatics, you’re now set and ready to go after this walkthrough.

Every sweepstakes casino on the internet offers plenty of slots for you to play, which you can do using either GCs or SCs.

After you’ve practiced in demo mode, we recommend switching to SCs so that you can try and win prizes like gift cards and cash transfers.

Our other top tip is to only play slots with an RTP of 96% or higher, as they offer a higher theoretical return on your bets.

From KingPrize to Crown Coins Casino, there’s also no limit on how many sweepstakes casinos you can join, so you can sign up with different operators if you want to take advantage of free coins offers.
